Project Paper Doll The Hunt Stacey Kade Books

I have read the series for a dozen times, and I still love it - and, strangely enough, I seem to love this middle piece the most, even though, plot-wise, it's nothing more than a cliff hanger before we get to the real stuff (the trials), or a further spinning out of the enchanting love story of the first installment (the rules). I love the tension between the main characters, the way in which they navigate their feelings for each other and themselves, the way in which both deal with their deepest insecurities of being "enough". I like it that Stacey Kade chose various ways to showcase what low self esteem is, what it does to the person suffering from it and her environment, and our various and very personal ways of dealing with it. Even that stupid (and the most unrealistic) Rachel character is one variation on this theme. What I like most, maybe, is Zane's sensibility. It's really good to have yet another novel that brakes the old mold and reverses the gender roles. And this one in particular is likable as hell, and oddly relatable (because - who again is in a relationship with a hybrid?)!

Project Paper Doll The Hunt Stacey Kade Books Reviews

I can't believe everything that happened in this book!!! I'm so sad about the ending though๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜ž Ariane is going to have to fight really hard and keep her goal in mind! I hope Zane will be okay๐Ÿ™ I don't know what Emerson St. John is going to do with him but I hope he doesn't turn him into a hybrid!!๐Ÿ˜ฑ
This is the second book of the Project Paper Doll Series. It is just as good as the first book. It continues right where the first book left off and has surprising plot twists every step of the way .The book ends with you just wanting MORE. I would have to say that the only bad thing about this book is just that the third book isn't out yet!
Every time I finish reading a series, I'm always depressed because I'm afraid I will never find another one that I like as well. Normally, I hate any kind of sci-fi story but, this one is so unique, it captured me from the beginning.

I will not tell anything about the story in particular, I will just say that this book delivered what is was supposed to do-continue a wonderful story.

Enjoy!
I love this book series! At first I was skeptical....alien hybrid? But it's REALLY good. The author does a GREAT job at letting us get to know the characters and we see chapters from both points of view. I loved seeing Ariane and Zane's relationship develop. It was so real. There's no insta-love, no love triangles. Just a girl trying to discover herself, win her freedom, and fall in love without feeling bad about it. Loved it! Can't wait for the third! I should also mention I'm not one for series because I usually get bored but this one has me hooked.
Would give this 3.5 but can't. This is the 2nd in a 3 book series. It was a good story line but too predictable for me. I have read all 3 books and found all to be good reads but majority of the time, I felt like I knew what was going to happen next...how the books would end.
There has to be another book in this series because the ending made absolutely no sense unless its a buildup for another. With that said, I would highly recommend this book ..... Ariane is such an interesting, diverse character! Zane develops so well as the plot unfolds......love them both! Ford is introduced to the reader and you have no idea, what her actual thought processing is...especially at the end. Other than minor editting mistakes, the writing is quite good. I read this second book and the first one in two days.....they held my interest and I had to know what was going to happen next. One thing I can say for certain is if I had friends like Arianna Id wonder who my enemies were!
Although I enjoyed Project Paper Doll The Rules very much, the fact is that I didn't have particularly high expectations for the sequel. I am very pleased to say that I was wrong. The Hunt is every bit as formidable as The Rules, and is worthy of five stars.

The Project Paper Doll series is one of a number of recent trilogies centering on teenage girls who consider themselves inferior beings because of their unorthodox origins. --- that is, rather than being born in the usual manner, they are products of cloning, some android process, or, as in the present case, alien hybrid ancestry. The irony, of course, is that they inevitably prove to possess all of the virtues and faculties of normal humans, and then some. I am not sure whether books of this type are meant as commentaries on female self-esteem issues, or simply intended as engrossing fiction, but, either way, they clearly have much to offer.

I didn't expect to enjoy The Hunt as much as I did The Rules, simply because it promised to be a chase novel. So much of The Rules had been internal --- the intellectual and emotional struggles of Ariane in identifying and exploring her place in the world. I feared that The Hunt would sacrifice these internal struggles in favor of a series of hostile encounters with those trying to restore her to guinea pig status. Happily, that was not the case. Most of the book did not involve direct struggles with the enemy, but, rather, continued to explore Ariane's central concern what does it mean to be human? Indeed, the events of the novel lead to speculation on other related issues, such as the meaning of trust and love in the context of one who is torn by both inferiority and superiority complexes.

However, the most interesting exploration involves the novel's treatment of the ancient issue of nature vs. nurture. Ariane meets others of her kind who demonstrate the extent to which her own background and upbringing have directed the development of her humanity. The ending of The Hunt suggests that the third volume will deal with Ariane's direct attempts to reconcile the two sides of her nature.

The conclusion of The Hunt does provide a resolution of some of the plot devices raised in the course of the novel, but leaves most of the larger issues very much open. I found it quite satisfying in its own right, but am definitely eager to read the conclusion.
